Insulate Your Home
While Insulating Your Wallet
DID YOU KNOW?
Half of the energy we use to heat or cool our homes can simply leak out without insulation.
Insulation helps to:
save money on your energy bills
reduce your energy use and lower greenhouse gas emissions
reduce reliance on heating and cooling systems
improve your comfort at home.
Insulation acts as a barrier to heat loss and heat gain, particularly in roofs and ceilings, walls and floors.
In many homes insulation is the most practical and cost effective way to make a house more energy efficient, keeping it cooler in summer and warmer in winter and saving up to 40 per cent in heating and cooling bills. In addition, insulation may reduce condensation in the home. This can provide health benefits by reducing mould and damp.
Cavity Wall Insulation
Insulating the loft is one of the most effective ways to stop heat loss from your property.
25% of the energy used to heat the building is lost through the roof, so it’s easy to see why insulating the joists can be so effective at reducing energy bills.
A properly insulated loft will also help prolong the life of your boiler, because you'll use the heating less due to the better heat retention of your home.
We'll insulate your loft space to the 270-330mm government standard, by laying environmentally friendly fibre quilt between the joists, then a cross-layer over the top.
We use the best material supplied by Knauf, one of the leading manufacturers of insulation products. This material has a very low carbon footprint, for more information click here.
Most properties built from around 1930 onwards will have a cavity. This is the name given to the gap between the inner and outer wall of the building, and properly insulating the cavity walls in your property can massively reduce your energy bills.
If uninsulated, up to 35% of the heat in your home is lost through the walls.
All of our installations are covered by CIGA, the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency, who guarantee your insulation for 25 years.
We use one of the best products on the market,
Insulation is injected through a pattern of small drill holes on the outer wall of the property into the cavity.
If you have new render or are worried about damage to the brickwork on your property, we can also use the lance system, designed to avoid multiple drill holes on the face of the wall.
Depending on a few factors, you may be able to take advantage of government backed schemes to get free loft insulation.
With criteria always changing it's often confusing knowing whether you're eligible for such schemes, but we can help.
Criteria can be met in a few different ways :
Your postcode (some properties in low income areas may be eligible)
Occupant circumstances (some benefits may qualify)
Rural properties (some properties in rural areas may qualify)
For more advice on the latest funding available please contact our office, as they'll be able to provide the most up-to-date information.
Some properties may not be suitable for cavity wall insulation, so to make sure you'll need to contact us to arrange a free suitability assessment before any work can be carried out.
Once we've confirmed the property is suitable, we'll arrange an installation date and our experienced crew will arrive to install the material.
Any drill holes made will be filled and in most cases, we'll match the fill colour to your property to make them almost invisible.
A few weeks after the install you'll receive your 25 year guarantee from CIGA, to ensure your home is kept warm for years to come.
